About Guest: ------ Bhawana grew up in the Terai region of Nepal noticing the gender-based differences within her community and the impact of systemic gender barriers on girls like her. Thus at the age of 18, she began her career as a journalist in pursuit of social change but switched careers in 2013 to spend three years as a Teach for Nepal fellow in a community school in Nepal. Currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. in educational leadership at Kathmandu University where she is exploring how critical self-reflection helps nurture emotional intelligence among educators. Also through her organization My Emotions Matter, Bhawana is dedicated to helping individuals and teams develop the mindset and skills for emotional intelligence. She is mostly found researching, writing academic papers, and poems, designing lesson plans, facilitating sessions, reading, watching movies, gardening, and solo travels to new places.
